• SUMIKASUPER® (formerly known as Econol) S1000 is our original super-engineering plastic and a wholly aromatic polyester resin, which has excellent heat resistance. The raw material is produced by SUMITOMO CHEMICAL COMPANY, LIMITED. This material neither melts nor deforms at 400C and can withstand a continuous use temperature of 260C. Its rate of water absorption is one digit smaller than Polyimide resin’s rate. It is an ideal material for fine resin machining as burring is unlikely to occur when cutting.
• Heat resistance
• Can be used in applications with a continuous operating temperature of 260C and can withstand temperatures up to 400C for a brief time. It neither melts nor becomes deformed at high temperature.
• Low rate of water absorption
• The rate of water absorption is one digit smaller than Polyimide resin’s rate.
• Suitable for　 vacuum applications
• Low impurities like metal ion and low outgassing.
• Solvent resistance
• Demonstrates almost no effect from oils and organic solvents. Do not use with high alkali concentration solutions and high temperature water.
• Machinability
• Less burring when cutting. Unaffected by heat generated during machining.
• High dimensional stability
• Small linear expansion. No thermal deformation occurs when machining, unlike other Thermoplastic resins.
